3 May 2007 Štrbské Pleso goes back to ŠtrbaŠtrbské Pleso sa vracia Štrbe

The one settlement everybody associates with this town is not legally part of it. A long boundary dispute ended with a ruling of the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic on 3 May 2007, which returned Štrbské Pleso's cadastral territory in part to the municipality of Štrba, and the transfer was completed on 7 October 2007. Since then Štrbské Pleso has been a local part of Štrba, not of the town of Vysoké Tatry. Nothing about the trains, the hotels or the lake changed at all. It is a useful reminder that the administrative map and the map people actually live on are two different drawings, and only one of them is visible from the platform.Osada, ktorú si s týmto mestom spája každý, mu právne nepatrí. Dlhoročný spor o hranice ukončil rozsudok Najvyššieho súdu Slovenskej republiky z 3. mája 2007, ktorý katastrálne územie Štrbského Plesa čiastočne vrátil obci Štrba; prevod dokončili 7. októbra 2007. Odvtedy je Štrbské Pleso miestnou časťou Štrby, nie mesta Vysoké Tatry. Na vlakoch, hoteloch ani na plese sa nezmenilo vôbec nič. Je to užitočná pripomienka, že správna mapa a mapa, na ktorej ľudia naozaj žijú, sú dva rôzne nákresy — a z nástupišťa vidno len jeden z nich.
