On 28 December 1913 the doctors and mountaineers of these settlements founded the Tatra Voluntary Rescue Committee under the physician Michal Guhr, with Alfred Grosz, Július Andreas Hefty and Dezider Reichart among the first volunteers: unpaid men with ropes and stretchers who went out when a guest did not come back down. It lasted three years.
