SninaSnina
In 1781 Countess Terézia van Dernáth, a Drugeth granddaughter who then owned the estate with her five sons, had a masonry manor house built to replace the old wooden one. That building, later rebuilt in the plain classicist style, is the kaštieľ that still stands in the town park and is the oldest thing of note in Snina. The countess died in 1799, and her sons did what heirs of a remote and unprofitable estate often did: they sold it — to a businessman named Jozef Rholl. That sale is the hinge on which the town's whole history turns.V roku 1781 dala grófka Terézia Vandernáthová, vnučka Drugetovcov, ktorá panstvo vlastnila spolu s piatimi synmi, postaviť murovaný kaštieľ namiesto starého dreveného. Tá stavba, neskôr prestavaná do striedmeho klasicistického slohu, je kaštieľom v mestskom parku a najstaršou pozoruhodnou budovou Sniny. Grófka zomrela roku 1799 a jej synovia urobili to, čo dedičia odľahlého a málo výnosného panstva robievali: predali ho — podnikateľovi Jozefovi Rhollovi. Na tomto predaji sa otáčajú celé dejiny mesta.
