In 1684 the male line of the Drugeths died out, and the great Zemplín estate had to be inherited through a daughter. Snina passed to Klára Drugeth, who was married to Count Peter Zichy. Nothing changed for the people cutting hay in the Cirocha valley; what changed was the name at the top of the rent roll.
