The seventeenth century almost finished Nová Baňa off. Hungarian nobles rose against the Habsburgs again and again, armies of both sides lived off this countryside, and plague came through more than once; between them they nearly emptied the town. Mining went on, but on a small scale and always short of money and hands. A place that had been one of seven privileged royal towns was now a poor one with an expensive problem underground.Sedemnáste storočie Novú Baňu takmer položilo.
