After the war the plants were nationalised and merged into a state enterprise, Drevina, which became the town's employer in a way the old sawmill never was: one works with hundreds of jobs and a whole village timed to its shifts. A fire in 1963 destroyed part of it, and the rebuilding that followed made it bigger. New blocks of flats and cultural buildings went up around it. Turany in these decades was what most of industrial Slovakia was — a single factory, and a town arranged around it.Po vojne závody znárodnili a spojili do štátneho podniku Drevina, ktorý sa stal zamestnávateľom obce tak, ako stará píla nikdy nebola: jeden podnik so stovkami pracovných miest a celá obec riadená jeho zmenami. V roku 1963 časť závodu zničil požiar a prestavba, ktorá po ňom prišla, ho ešte zväčšila. Okolo pribudli nové bytovky a kultúrne budovy. Turany boli v tých desaťročiach tým, čím bola väčšina priemyselného Slovenska — jedna fabrika a obec zoradená okolo nej.
