Long before there was a village there was a fortified settlement on the hill called Molpír, built in the Hallstatt period at the beginning of the Iron Age. Terraces and ramparts covered some twelve hectares of hilltop — one of the largest hillforts of its age in this part of Europe — and the whole thing sits directly above the gap where the mountain road reaches the plain. It was abandoned and never rebuilt on that scale, and the finds from it are kept in the village museum. Walk up there and you are standing on a settlement roughly two and a half thousand years old.Dávno predtým, než tu bola dedina, stálo na kopci zvanom Molpír opevnené sídlisko z halštatského obdobia, teda zo začiatku doby železnej. Terasy a valy zaberali asi dvanásť hektárov temena — patrilo k najväčším hradiskám svojej doby v tejto časti Európy — a celé leží priamo nad bránou, kde horská cesta vyúsťuje do roviny. Sídlisko zaniklo a v takom rozsahu ho už nikdy neobnovili; nálezy z neho sú v obecnom múzeu. Keď tam vyjdete, stojíte na sídlisku starom zhruba dva a pol tisíca rokov.
