Dubnica still lives by engineering, but no longer by one factory: the old ZŤS site is an industrial estate of separate firms — ammunition and defence work, forging and foundries, machine tools, design offices and a growing line of car-industry suppliers. It is the largest town in Slovakia that is not a district seat. The manor house has been under staged restoration for years; the town museum has occupied the restored part since 2010, the stone grotto and its wooden lookout tower still stand in the park, and how much of the building you can actually get into changes from year to year.Dubnica žije stále zo strojárstva, ale už nie z jednej fabriky: na starom areáli ZŤS je priemyselný park samostatných firiem – muničná a obranná výroba, kováčne a zlievarne, obrábacie stroje, konštrukčné kancelárie a pribúdajúci rad dodávateľov pre automobilky. Je to najväčšie mesto na Slovensku, ktoré nie je okresným sídlom. Kaštieľ prechádza už roky etapovitou obnovou; v obnovenej časti sídli od roku 2010 mestské múzeum, v parku stále stojí kamenná grotta s drevenou vyhliadkovou vežou a to, koľko z budovy sa dá naozaj vidieť, sa mení rok čo rok.
