1977 Four clusters, protectedŠtyri zoskupenia pod ochranou

In 1977 four groups of folk buildings in Ždiar were declared a reserve of folk architecture. Notice the difference from Osturňa, where the whole village is protected as one: here it is clusters, because new building had already filled the road between them, and that is exactly why Ždiar reads as old and new at once. Around 127 items stand on the monument list, most of them log farmsteads with their barns, stables and outbuildings, along with the Roman Catholic parish church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary and a couple of windlass wells. One dwelling is kept as a small private museum of local living, its rooms furnished as they were used; opening depends on the family rather than on posted hours.Roku 1977 vyhlásili štyri zoskupenia ľudových stavieb v Ždiari za pamiatkovú rezerváciu ľudovej architektúry. Všimnite si rozdiel oproti Osturni, kde je chránená celá obec ako jeden celok: tu ide o zoskupenia, lebo cestu medzi nimi už predtým zaplnila nová zástavba — a práve preto pôsobí Ždiar starým a novým naraz. V zozname pamiatok stojí asi 127 položiek, väčšinou zrubových usadlostí s maštaľami, humnami a hospodárskymi stavbami, a k tomu rímskokatolícky farský kostol Navštívenia Panny Márie a niekoľko rumpálových studní. Jeden dom slúži ako malé súkromné múzeum ľudového bývania so zariadenými izbami; otváranie závisí od rodiny, nie od vyvesených hodín.
