At a second spot near the village, below the hill called Šibeničná hora — Gallows Hill — archaeologists uncovered an early Slavic settlement dated from the middle of the sixth century to the beginning of the seventh. That matters far beyond one village. Before this find, the oldest firm evidence for Slavs living in Spiš came from the Great Moravian period, two hundred years later; the settlement pushes their arrival in this basin back by that much. History is often changed like this — not by a battle, but by pottery in a trench.Na druhom mieste pri obci, pod kopcom Šibeničná hora, odkryli archeológovia včasnoslovanské sídlisko datované od polovice 6. do začiatku 7. storočia. To je dôležité ďaleko za hranicami jednej dediny. Pred týmto nálezom pochádzali najstaršie isté doklady o Slovanoch na Spiši až z veľkomoravského obdobia, o dvesto rokov neskôr; sídlisko posúva ich príchod do tejto kotliny práve o toľko. Dejiny sa menia často takto — nie bitkou, ale keramikou v sonde.
