In 1668 the count who held the estate brought Minorite friars — a branch of the Franciscans — to the village and built them an early-Baroque friary; by that century the lords of Spiš Castle, and of this village, were the Csáky counts. This was the Counter-Reformation doing its work. Much of Spiš had turned Lutheran during the previous hundred years, and the Catholic landowners answered not with soldiers but with religious orders, schools and building. The friary is still standing, much altered and long since put to other uses.Roku 1668 priviedol gróf, ktorý panstvo držal, do dediny minoritov — vetvu františkánov — a postavil im ranobarokový kláštor; v tom storočí boli pánmi Spišského hradu i tejto obce grófi Csákyovci.
