In 1655 Emperor Ferdinand III granted the town the right to hold markets again. A market right is a licence to be a town at all: without it the traders go elsewhere and the place becomes a village with a church. The seventeenth century in Upper Hungary was also the century of the anti-Habsburg uprisings, when armies of both sides used the Polish border as a back door — but what happened to this town in those years is thinly recorded, and it is better to say so than to fill the gap.Roku 1655 udelil cisár Ferdinand III. mestu právo znova konať jarmoky.
