1513 – 1526 The Tarczays rebuild the churchTarcaiovci prestavujú kostol

Between 1513 and 1519 Mikuláš Tarczay, son of Tomáš, had the nave of St Martin's rebuilt: Gothic stone ribs used purely as decoration, resting on Renaissance brackets carved as winged angels' heads, and an organ gallery with the Tarczay coat of arms across its front. The two Renaissance doorways were cut at about the same time, and the inscription on the southern one names its maker as Vincent of Dubrovnik — which tells you how far a good stonemason would travel for work. Mikuláš Tarczay did not enjoy the finished church for long.
