In the sixteenth century Gemer went over almost entirely to the Reformation, and the church built for St Anthony has served a Lutheran congregation ever since. The Bebeks spent that century in the Ottoman wars: their castle of Krásna Hôrka above Rožňava got its heavy round gun bastions then, thrown up against the Turkish advance from the south. When the Bebek line ran out, the estate passed to the Andrássy family, who by the seventeenth century held Kobeliarovo as they held Krásna Hôrka and Betliar — and who would hold it until 1945. The church was rebuilt so thoroughly in 1664, and again in the nineteenth century, that most of what you look at now is not medieval at all.V šestnástom storočí prešiel Gemer takmer celý na reformáciu a kostol postavený svätému Antonovi odvtedy slúži evanjelickému zboru.
