The Mongol invasionVpád Mongolov
KobeliarovoKobeliarovo
In April 1241 the Mongol army destroyed the Hungarian king's forces at Muhi and rode through the kingdom for a year. When it withdrew, Béla IV set about rebuilding the country with stone castles and with grants of land to families he could rely on. Two years later, in 1243, he gave the valley of the Štítnik to the brothers Filip and Detrich of the Ákos kindred — the family later known as the Bebek. That charter is the first written mention of Štítnik, and it is also said to carry the earliest mention of an iron hámor, a water-driven forge hammer, anywhere in the Kingdom of Hungary. Kobeliarovo itself is not in it — nobody writes the village down for another two hundred years — but the lordship it would belong to for the next three centuries begins here.V apríli 1241 rozdrvilo mongolské vojsko pri Mohi vojsko uhorského kráľa a potom celý rok pustošilo krajinu.
