The oldest surviving document that names Kobeliarovo is dated 1466. That puts it in the reign of Matthias Corvinus, a generation after the Hussite captain Ján Jiskra and his soldiers had made themselves masters of the mining counties of upper Hungary and Matthias had spent years buying and fighting them out again. The village was by then part of the Bebek estate administered from Štítnik, down the valley. Nothing in the document makes Kobeliarovo important — being listed is usually a matter of somebody's tax or somebody's lawsuit. Obec vtedy patrila do bebekovského panstva spravovaného zo Štítnika dole v doline. Nič v listine z Kobeliarova nerobí významné miesto — zápis býva vecou niečej dane alebo niečieho sporu. Kostol nad svahom vtedy stál už poldruha storočia.
