The village church is early Gothic: one nave, a presbytery closed off square rather than in a half-circle, and a tower built onto the front. Art historians date it to roughly 1300–1310, and it was dedicated to St Anthony the Great. That single fact is worth stopping at, because the church is about a hundred and sixty years older than the first document that names Kobeliarovo. A first written mention tells you when a clerk had a reason to put a place on parchment — a tax, an inheritance, a boundary dispute — not when people arrived. Whoever paid for these walls was farming these slopes already; the triumphal arch inside, the vault over the presbytery and the doorway into the sacristy are still theirs.Kostol v obci je ranogotický: jedna loď, presbytérium ukončené rovno a nie polkruhom, a veža predstavaná pred priečelie. Umeleckí historici ho datujú zhruba do rokov 1300 – 1310 a zasvätený bol svätému Antonovi Pustovníkovi. Pri tom sa oplatí zastaviť, lebo kostol je asi o stošesťdesiat rokov starší než prvá listina, v ktorej sa Kobeliarovo spomína. Prvá písomná zmienka hovorí o tom, kedy mal pisár dôvod zapísať obec na pergamen — daň, dedičstvo, spor o hranicu — nie o tom, odkedy tu ľudia žijú. Ten, kto tieto múry zaplatil, tu už gazdoval; víťazný oblúk, klenba nad presbytériom a portál do sakristie sú dodnes jeho.
