Forty years of communismŠtyridsať rokov komunizmu

After February 1948 the communist state took the workshops and the vineyards alike. The majolica works became a national enterprise, and — as often happened with folk crafts — the state turned out to be a steadier customer than the market had been: this kind of work suited the official taste and the workshops were kept busy. The vineyards were merged into co-operatives, while the town's viticultural school went on training growers. Above the town, Harmónia and Zochova chata filled up with the trade-union holidays and school trips of the period, which is where a great many Slovaks first saw the Little Carpathians. Vinice zlúčili do družstiev a vinárska škola v meste ďalej vychovávala pestovateľov. Nad mestom sa Harmónia a Zochova chata naplnili odborárskymi rekreáciami a školskými výletmi tej doby — práve tam videlo veľa Slovákov Malé Karpaty prvý raz.
