Between 1825 and 1832 the Lutheran congregation replaced its older Gothic church with the large classicist building that is still the biggest thing on the main street; its interior work of 1831 is by the sculptor Štefan Ferenczy. A church of that size in a town of this size is a statement about who paid for it and what they thought mattered.
