The uprisingsPovstania
TisovecTisovec
Tisovec was granted market rights in 1675, and Emperor Leopold I confirmed its trading privileges in 1678 — in the middle of the anti-Habsburg uprisings, which is not a coincidence. A crown at war with the Hungarian nobility had every reason to be generous to towns, and a town allowed to hold fairs could sell its iron instead of merely handing it over to a landlord. The uprisings themselves ran on until 1711, and the valley paid for them in requisitions, quartered soldiers and burnt-out years. What Tisovec kept from the period was the right to trade.Trhové právo dostal Tisovec roku 1675 a cisár Leopold I. mu obchodné výsady potvrdil roku 1678 — uprostred protihabsburských povstaní, a nie je to náhoda. Koruna, ktorá bojovala s uhorskou šľachtou, mala všetky dôvody byť k mestám štedrá, a mesto, ktoré smelo držať jarmoky, mohlo svoje železo predávať, nie ho len odovzdávať zemepánovi. Povstania trvali až do roku 1711 a dolina ich platila rekvizíciami, ubytovaním vojska a vypálenými rokmi. Tisovcu z tých čias zostalo právo obchodovať.
