After 1948 the fields around Vrbové were collectivised into a co-operative farm, and work in the town itself moved into a knitwear factory, which traded as Trikota and was for most of the second half of the century the biggest employer here. In 1967 Vrbové was granted the status of a town again. The socialist decades treated it as what it was — a small place that supplied labour, food and cloth — and largely left its centre alone, which is one reason the old street plan survives.Po roku 1948 polia okolo Vrbového združstevnili a práca v samotnom meste sa presunula do pletiarne, ktorá niesla meno Trikota a bola po väčšinu druhej polovice storočia najväčším zamestnávateľom.
