The church was given a full external restoration in 1992, and the square is now what the town is known for: a long widening street of low burgher houses with the Gothic church free in the middle, the same plan as Prešov and Bardejov at a quarter of the scale, with sections of the medieval wall still standing at the edge of the old centre. Sabinov had 12,710 inhabitants in 2011. A large share of them work in Prešov, twenty kilometres down the valley — close enough for a daily commute, and close enough to keep the town from growing much on its own account.V roku 1992 prešiel kostol celkovou vonkajšou obnovou a námestie je dnes tým, čím je mesto známe: dlhá rozšírená ulica nízkych meštianskych domov s gotickým kostolom voľne v strede, ten istý pôdorys ako v Prešove či Bardejove, len v štvrtinovej mierke, a na okraji starého jadra stále stoja kusy stredovekých hradieb. V roku 2011 mal Sabinov 12 710 obyvateľov. Veľká časť z nich pracuje v Prešove, dvadsať kilometrov nižšie v doline — dosť blízko na každodenné dochádzanie a zároveň dosť blízko na to, aby samo mesto veľmi nerástlo.
