The second Russian offensive opened on 25 March 1915. The people of Zborov were evacuated, and their own Austro-Hungarian army burned 340 houses so that nothing would be left for the enemy. The front line then ran through the middle of the village. The village chronicler wrote of 1–3 May 1915 that no inhabitant saw the battle, but hundreds of mutilated Russian and Austro-Hungarian bodies were left strewn over the village and the fields, houses were smashed by shells, and the castle suburb below the ridge was flattened so completely that only scattered bricks and broken furniture showed where people had lived. On 3 May the last Russian troops withdrew into Galicia. Trenches had been cut into the castle itself, which was still the highest defensible ground for miles, and it was shelled: it came out of that war far more broken than it went in.Druhá ruská ofenzíva sa začala 25. marca 1915. Zborovčanov evakuovali a ich vlastná rakúsko-uhorská armáda vypálila 340 domov, aby nepriateľovi nič nezostalo. Frontová línia potom viedla stredom obce. Obecný kronikár o 1. až 3. máji 1915 napísal, že nikto z obyvateľov ten boj nevidel, ale po obci a poliach zostali stovky zohavených tiel ruských a rakúsko-uhorských vojakov, domy rozbité granátmi a zborovské podhradie zrovnané so zemou tak dokonale, že už len rozhádzané tehly a polámaný nábytok ukazovali, kde ľudia bývali. 3. mája odišli posledné ruské jednotky do Haliče. Do samotného hradu, ktorý bol stále najvyšším brániteľným miestom na míle ďaleko, vykopali zákopy a ostreľovali ho: z tejto vojny vyšiel oveľa rozbitejší, než do nej vstúpil.
