In 1990 the town got its name back: Svätý Jur again, saint included. In the same year the historic core was declared an urban conservation area — the protection covers the whole street and its yards rather than one showpiece building, which is unusual, and is exactly what makes the place worth walking through. Cellars that had belonged to the cooperative went back into private hands, and small family wineries reappeared on the street where they had stood before 1948.V roku 1990 dostalo mesto späť svoje meno: znova Svätý Jur, aj so svätcom. V tom istom roku vyhlásili historické jadro za mestskú pamiatkovú rezerváciu — ochrana sa vzťahuje na celú ulicu aj s dvormi, nie na jednu výkladnú budovu, čo je nezvyčajné a práve preto sa tadiaľ oplatí prejsť. Pivnice, ktoré patrili družstvu, sa vrátili do súkromných rúk a na ulici sa znova objavili malé rodinné vinárstva tam, kde stáli pred rokom 1948.
