The Ottoman wars that swallowed the middle of the kingdom never reached the Turiec — the frontier ran far to the south, and what came over the pass instead was money. On 5 September 1533 the free royal mining town of Kremnica, rich from gold, bought the Háj estate with the springs in it, and by 31 August 1535 it owned the estate outright. Kremnica would hold this water for more than four hundred years. It built a new bath in 1549 and the Red-and-White Bath in 1593, and — unusually for the age — opened the water to guests of every rank rather than to nobles alone.Osmanské vojny, ktoré pohltili stred Uhorska, sa do Turca nikdy nedostali — hranica sa tiahla ďaleko na juh a cez sedlo sem prichádzali skôr peniaze než vojaci. 5. septembra 1533 kúpilo hájske panstvo aj s prameňmi slobodné kráľovské banské mesto Kremnica, ktoré zbohatlo na zlate, a 31. augusta 1535 sa stalo jeho definitívnym vlastníkom. Kremnica bude túto vodu držať vyše štyristo rokov. V roku 1549 tu postavila nový kúpeľ, v roku 1593 Bielo-červený kúpeľ a — na svoju dobu nezvyčajne — sprístupnila vodu hosťom všetkých stavov, nielen šľachte.
