Since 1993 Hlohovec has been a district town in an independent Slovakia, and it still lives off the two things it lived off before: the drug factory, privatised and now part of a larger international group, and the land on the terraces above the Váh. The château and its park have been under long, staged restoration for years, and what a visitor can actually enter changes from season to season. The theatre of 1802 is still standing among the trees, which is the town's best argument for spending the money.Od roku 1993 je Hlohovec okresným mestom v samostatnom Slovensku a živí ho stále to isté čo predtým: farmaceutický závod, dnes sprivatizovaný a súčasť väčšej medzinárodnej skupiny, a pôda na terasách nad Váhom. Kaštieľ a jeho park prechádzajú dlhou etapovitou obnovou a to, čo je práve prístupné, sa mení zo sezóny na sezónu. Divadlo z roku 1802 stále stojí medzi stromami a práve ono je najlepším argumentom, prečo doň vkladať peniaze.
