Nová Dubnica had been built for a single factory, and after 1989 that factory's arms business collapsed and the ZŤS combine broke into pieces. What stayed on this side of the fields was the technical end of the old organisation — an electrotechnical research and design institute, and around it a cluster of smaller electronics, power-engineering and automation firms descended from the same body — rather than the production halls, which had always been on the Dubnica side. For most residents the working day still ends in another town.Nová Dubnica bola postavená pre jedinú fabriku a po roku 1989 sa jej zbrojná výroba zrútila a kombinát ZŤS sa rozpadol. Na tejto strane polí zostal technický koniec starej organizácie – elektrotechnický výskumný a projektový ústav a okolo neho menšie firmy z oblasti elektroniky, energetiky a automatizácie –, nie výrobné haly, tie boli vždy na dubnickej strane. Pre väčšinu obyvateľov sa pracovný deň dodnes končí v inom meste.
