Under communism the strips were collectivised into a co-operative farm, as they were in every village in the country, and men went out to work in Bardejov and further. The church went on being used. In the 1970s it was restored and the original paintings were brought back out from under later coats — the work that made the building presentable to the wider world. Restoring a wooden church is never finished: shingle has to be renewed every generation or two, so much of what you see on the outside is far younger than the frame beneath it.Za komunizmu role združili do jednotného roľníckeho družstva, ako v každej dedine v krajine, a muži chodili za prácou do Bardejova aj ďalej. Kostol sa naďalej používal. V sedemdesiatych rokoch ho reštaurovali a spod neskorších náterov vrátili na svetlo pôvodné maľby — práve tá práca urobila z budovy niečo, čo bolo možné ukázať svetu. Obnova dreveného kostola sa nikdy neskončí: šindeľ treba vymeniť raz za generáciu či dve, takže veľká časť toho, čo vidíte zvonku, je oveľa mladšia než zrub pod ňou.
