1665 The walls are paintedSteny dostávajú maľbu

In 1665 somebody painted the boarded inner walls: Adam and Eve at the tree in Eden, St George fighting the dragon, and rows of saints. These are the paintings that turn the building from an architectural survival into something worth crossing the country for, because in most wooden churches the painting is long gone. Sources do not entirely agree on the year — Slovak accounts often give 1655 instead, and add a further campaign of painting in 1805. Later in the century the Counter-Reformation brought the parish back to Catholic use, and the interior was rearranged again.Roku 1665 niekto vymaľoval doskové steny vnútra: Adama a Evu pri strome v raji, svätého Juraja v boji s drakom a rady svätcov. Práve tieto maľby menia stavbu z obyčajnej architektonickej pamiatky na niečo, kvôli čomu sa oplatí prejsť pol krajiny — vo väčšine drevených kostolov maľby dávno zmizli. Pramene sa v roku celkom nezhodujú: slovenské často uvádzajú rok 1655 a k tomu ďalšiu vrstvu malieb z roku 1805. Neskôr v tom istom storočí vrátila rekatolizácia farnosť katolíkom a vnútro kostola sa opäť prerobilo.
