By 1828 the village had grown to fifty-eight houses and 478 people. Twenty years later the revolution of 1848 abolished serfdom across the Kingdom of Hungary — the arrangement under which a peasant family worked the lord's land in return for the right to farm a strip of its own, and could not simply pack up and leave. The Klobušickýs stopped being lords of Hervartov and became owners of some of its land.
