In the second half of the fifteenth century the villagers built the church of St Francis of Assisi: Roman Catholic, Gothic in every line, and made entirely of wood. The timber is usually described as yew and larch. What marks it out is its shape — tall and narrow, the proportions of a stone Gothic church rather than of a barn, which is unusual in a timber building and is why it is counted the oldest of its kind in the country. From the end of the fifteenth century the village no longer belonged to a noble family at all: the free royal town of Bardejov, buying up the countryside around it, took Hervartov over and held it through the sixteenth century.V druhej polovici 15. storočia postavili dedinčania kostol svätého Františka z Assisi: rímskokatolícky, v každej línii gotický a celý z dreva.
