At the beginning of the eighteenth century Bardejov, short of money as the towns generally were after the uprisings, pledged Hervartov to the noble Klobušický family. A pledge is a loan with land as the security: the lender takes the income until the loan is repaid, and if it is never repaid the land simply stays with him. It was never repaid. By the end of the century the Klobušickýs owned the village outright. Records from those years count forty-eight houses and 314 people — a village of the size it had always been, on small sloping fields that made nobody rich.Na začiatku 18. storočia Bardejov, ktorý mal po povstaniach ako väčšina miest prázdnu pokladnicu, Hervartov zálohoval šľachtickému rodu Klobušických.
