On a rise above the town stands a small church built entirely of wood, walls and roof clad in shingles. Its late Gothic core is usually dated to the end of the fifteenth century, though some researchers argue for the end of the fourteenth — the disagreement is genuine and unresolved, and a student should know that historians argue about things like this. It served as the parish church of Tvrdošín, and it is by a wide margin the oldest surviving building in the town.
