When the war ended the 1938 border was cancelled and the old railway through Plešivec worked again — which meant the whole reason for the Gemer connecting lines had evaporated. Work restarted anyway for a while and then stopped for good as the construction industry was nationalised at the end of 1948; sources put the last work in 1948 or 1949. The bore under Homôľka was there, 2,401 metres of it, joining two valleys that no longer needed joining. No train has ever run through it. The partisans had already buried the Slavošovce mouth during the war so that German troops could not use it as a way through, which is why that portal now sits below the level of the ground.Po vojne hranicu z roku 1938 zrušili a stará trať cez Plešivec opäť fungovala — čím sa vyparil celý zmysel gemerských spojok.
