In the seventeenth century the estate passed from the Bebeks to the Andrássy family, the lords of Krásna Hôrka and later of the Betliar manor, who would hold this country until 1945. In the same century iron hámre — water-powered forges — were set up along the Slavošovce stream. The logic is the logic of the whole region: iron ore in the hills, beech forest to burn into charcoal, and a stream steady enough to turn a wheel all year. Those three things put a workshop industry into a valley that had almost no farmland worth the name, and they are why the village is here at all.V sedemnástom storočí prešlo panstvo od Bebekovcov na Andrássyovcov, pánov Krásnej Hôrky a neskôr betliarskeho kaštieľa, ktorí tento kraj držali až do roku 1945. V tom istom storočí postavili pri slavošovskom potoku železné hámre — vodou poháňané kováčske dielne. Logika je tá istá ako v celom kraji: v kopcoch železná ruda, v lesoch buk na drevené uhlie a potok, ktorý vydrží točiť kolesom po celý rok. Tieto tri veci priniesli remeselnú výrobu do doliny, kde poriadnej ornej pôdy takmer nebolo — a preto tu obec vôbec je.
