After the peace of 1711 the eighteenth century was, for once, ordinary: fairs, farming, and the slow rebuilding of a plundered county. By 1777 Sečovce was the seat of a district within Zemplín county — the level of administration between the village and the county, where the local judge and tax officer sat. Maria Theresa's land reform in the same period set down in writing exactly what a serf owed his lord, which at least limited what could be demanded. For a market town the important thing about that century was simply that armies stopped marching through it.Po mieri roku 1711 bolo 18. storočie konečne obyčajné: jarmoky, hospodárenie a pomalá obnova vydrancovanej stolice. Roku 1777 boli Sečovce sídlom slúžnovského okresu Zemplínskej stolice — správnej úrovne medzi dedinou a stolicou, kde sídlil miestny sudca a výbercovia daní.
