The front reached Krupina at the end of the winter: Soviet troops took the town on 3 March 1945. The fighting of those weeks finished off what was left of the fortified monastery at Bzovík west of the town, and what local people carried away from the ruins afterwards did the rest. Liberation is the right word for what arrived in 1945, and it is also true that it arrived as artillery and left wreckage behind it. Boje tých týždňov dorazili aj to, čo ostávalo z opevneného kláštora v Bzovíku na západ od mesta, a čo si potom ľudia z ruín odniesli, dokonalo zvyšok. Oslobodenie je pre rok 1945 správne slovo — a zároveň je pravda, že prišlo v podobe delostreleckej paľby a nechalo po sebe trosky. Oboje patrí do tej istej vety.
