1284 Dyud, a village of local noblesDyud, dedina zemianskych rodov

The village first appears in writing in 1284, in the form Dyud, held by local noble families. Later it belonged to the Földváry family, in the eighteenth century to the Szulyovszkys, and after them to the Zmeskalls and the Oberndorfs. This is ordinary Hont county history: a small village of a few dozen households, changing landlords by marriage and inheritance. In all these centuries nobody thought the warm water was worth building anything on.Prvý raz sa dedina objavuje v písomnostiach v roku 1284, v podobe Dyud, v rukách zemianskych rodov. Neskôr patrila Földváryovcom, v osemnástom storočí Szulyovszkovcom a po nich Zmeškalovcom a Oberndorfovcom. Je to celkom obyčajná hontianska história: malá dedina s pár desiatkami usadlostí, ktorá menila zemepánov sobášmi a dedením. Za celé tie storočia nikomu nenapadlo, že by sa na teplej vode oplatilo niečo postaviť.
