In 1598 the village had thirty households. It stayed part of the Lietava estate until 1626, and afterwards belonged to the Thurzos and then to a growing crowd of co-heirs — the Révay and Perényi families among them — who held it until serfdom was abolished in 1848. That is why no lord ever built anything grand here: a village owned by a dozen families who cannot agree gets no manor house, only rent collectors. K lietavskému panstvu patrila do roku 1626, potom pripadla Turzovcom a po nich rastúcemu zástupu spoludedičov — medzi nimi Révayovcom a Perényiovcom — ktorí ju držali až do zrušenia poddanstva v roku 1848. Preto tu nijaký pán nikdy nepostavil nič veľkolepé: dedina, ktorú vlastní tucet rodín neschopných dohodnúť sa, nedostane kaštieľ, iba výbercov dávok. To, čo tu napokon vzniklo, zaplatili dedinčania a pútnici.
