In 1960 the country's administrative map was redrawn and Senica became the seat of a district covering a wide stretch of central Záhorie — which is why the hospital, the secondary schools and the offices are here rather than somewhere larger. The neighbouring villages of Čáčov and Kunov were joined to the town in 1974 and 1976 and are now its outer quarters. Decisions like these look dull on paper, and they settle for fifty years where a family will find work.V roku 1960 sa prekreslila správna mapa krajiny a Senica sa stala sídlom okresu, ktorý pokrýva široký pás stredného Záhoria — preto je nemocnica, stredné školy aj úrady práve tu, a nie vo väčšom meste. Susedné obce Čáčov a Kunov pripojili k mestu v rokoch 1974 a 1976 a dnes sú jeho okrajovými časťami. Takéto rozhodnutia vyzerajú na papieri nudne a pritom na päťdesiat rokov určia, kde si rodina nájde prácu.
