The eighteenth century was the Amades' century here. In its second half Count Tádé Amade turned the old moated house into a baroque manor with towers — the kind of building a family puts up when it no longer expects to be attacked. The Gothic parish church of St Margaret, standing since the fourteenth century, was rebuilt in baroque form in 1770. By 1796 a description of the county calls Bős a market town. All of it was paid for by the grain of the island and by the labour of people who were still, in law, part of the estate.Osemnáste storočie bolo tu storočím Amadeovcov. V jeho druhej polovici dal gróf Tádé Amade prestavať starý vodný kaštieľ na barokový s vežami — teda na dom, aký si rod postaví, keď už neráta s tým, že ho niekto napadne. Gotický farský kostol svätej Margity, stojaci od 14. storočia, prestavali v roku 1770 do barokovej podoby. Opis stolice z roku 1796 už nazýva Bőš mestečkom. Všetko to zaplatilo obilie ostrova a práca ľudí, ktorí podľa vtedajšieho práva stále patrili k panstvu.
