Iphigenia Sina had the Hammam built in 1888 beside the family's mirror pool: a Turkish bath in Oriental Moorish style, and the most remarkable historic building in the town. Two years before it, in 1886 to 1888, a hydroelectric station was built here generating alternating current at 5,250 volts; it lit the streets of the spa and of Trenčianska Teplá, Košeca and Ladce, and it powered a narrow-gauge electric railway up from the main line at Trenčianska Teplá, opened on 27 June 1909. In the same year the spa was sold to a Hungarian company.
