The valley is narrow, the river and the railway already have the floor of it, and the D1 motorway still had to get through — so it was carried over the town on a viaduct more than a kilometre long, on piers standing between the housing blocks. Construction ran from 2008 and the road was opened on 30 and 31 May 2010. It is the most argued-about structure in the region: it took the transit traffic out of the streets and put a concrete deck over the centre in exchange. Engineering is still what the town lives on, now in hydraulics and machine shops rather than weapons.Dolina je úzka, jej dno už zabrala rieka a železnica, a diaľnica D1 tadiaľ predsa musela prejsť — postavili ju teda nad mestom, na estakáde dlhšej ako kilometer, na pilieroch medzi panelákmi. Stavalo sa od roku 2008 a 30. a 31. mája 2010 sa cesta otvorila. Je to najspornejšia stavba v kraji: z ulíc odviedla tranzit a na oplátku prekryla centrum betónovou doskou. Mesto stále žije zo strojárstva, len namiesto zbraní dnes vyrába hydrauliku a obrába na zákazku.
