In the autumn of 1533 the Podmanický brothers from Považská Bystrica took Lednica by assault, claiming it on the strength of a document from 1504, and then had the seizure recognised — that is how the law worked in the years after Mohács. They held it until 1558. In 1559 the imperial captain Imrich Telekesy bought the castle, and his grandson Michal turned it into a base for violence against the local peasants and travellers. A force under Thurzo moved against it on 11 September 1600; Michal fled to Poland, was caught, and was executed on 3 April 1601.Na jeseň 1533 dobyli Lednicu útokom bratia Podmanickovci z Považskej Bystrice — nárok si opierali o listinu z roku 1504 a záber si potom dali aj potvrdiť. Tak fungovalo právo v rokoch po Moháči. Držali hrad do roku 1558. V roku 1559 ho kúpil cisársky kapitán Imrich Telekesy a jeho vnuk Michal z neho urobil základňu násilia proti poddaným aj pocestným. Vojsko pod Thurzovým velením proti hradu zasiahlo 11. septembra 1600; Michal ušiel do Poľska, chytili ho a 3. apríla 1601 popravili.
