In 1915 the army took the spa over and turned it into a military hospital. That happened to spa towns all over the monarchy in the First World War: the treatment rooms and the baths were already there, so the wounded were sent to them. Bojnice's men were conscripted into the Austro-Hungarian army like everyone else's and fought on the Russian and Italian fronts. The war destroyed the market the Pálffys had been building for — wealthy visitors from Vienna and Budapest — and the buildings came out of it in poor condition.Roku 1915 kúpele prevzalo vojsko a zriadilo v nich vojenskú nemocnicu.
