In 1366 King Louis I granted Bojnice the right to hold weekly markets and annual fairs, and to run mills and baths. Read that list again: the baths are in a royal charter of the fourteenth century. Bathing in the warm water was not invented by the spa industry six hundred and fifty years later; it was already worth writing into a privilege. Market rights mattered just as much.
