1745 The wooden church that no longer stands hereDrevený chrám, ktorý tu už nestojí

In 1745 the village built its wooden church of St Michael the Archangel — logs, shingles and a three-part plan, the standard shape of a Greek Catholic church: Eastern-rite Christians who keep the Byzantine liturgy, the icon screen and married priests, but recognise the pope. It is the oldest thing Nová Sedlica ever made, and you cannot see it here. The church was taken apart and re-erected in the open-air museum in the chateau park at Humenné, where it stands today and where you can walk into it. Whether that counts as rescue or as loss is a fair question to argue about.V roku 1745 si obec postavila drevený chrám svätého Michala archanjela — zrub, šindeľ a trojdielny pôdorys, teda obvyklá podoba gréckokatolíckeho chrámu. Gréckokatolíci sú kresťania východného obradu: držia sa byzantskej liturgie, ikonostasu a ženatých kňazov, ale uznávajú pápeža. Je to najstaršia vec, akú kedy Nová Sedlica vytvorila — a tu ju neuvidíte. Chrám rozobrali a znovu postavili v skanzene v kaštieľskom parku v Humennom, kde stojí dodnes a kam sa dá vojsť. Či to rátať ako záchranu, alebo ako stratu, je otázka, o ktorej sa dá poctivo hádať.
