1819–1945 Sold, and sold againPredaný a znova predaný

After 1772 the castle was army quarters and storage, and then simply property: it was sold to J. F. Raisz in 1819 and his family held it for about fifty-five years. In 1883 it was bought by the Polish count Zamoyski, and the Zamoyskis kept it until 1945 — which is why several of the furnished rooms on the museum route look like a country house rather than a castle. In 1930 the family repaired the chapel and the residential wing. There is an odd symmetry in it: the castle that had been the seat of Polish government in the Spiš spent its last private century in Polish hands again, this time as a home.Po roku 1772 slúžil hrad ako kasárne a sklad a potom už len ako majetok: v roku 1819 ho kúpil J. F. Raisz a jeho rodina ho držala asi päťdesiatpäť rokov. V roku 1883 ho kúpil poľský gróf Zamoyski a Zamoyskovci ho mali až do roku 1945 — preto viaceré zariadené izby na prehliadkovej trase vyzerajú skôr ako vidiecke sídlo než ako hrad. V roku 1930 dala rodina opraviť kaplnku a obytný trakt. Je v tom čudná symetria: hrad, ktorý bol sídlom poľskej správy na Spiši, strávil svoje posledné súkromné storočie zase v poľských rukách — tentoraz ako domov.
