In independent Slovakia the town found its footing again through engineering and car-parts work, much of it feeding the big plants at Nitra half an hour away — the Jaguar Land Rover factory that opened there in 2018 pulled suppliers into the whole district. The other thing the town lives on is being the door to somewhere: the Tribeč trails, the two castle ruins, and above all Topoľčianky with its manor house, its park, its wisent enclosure and its stud farm. The Migazzi manor house on the main street holds the town museum. It is a quiet place with a very long written history and one very loud twentieth century.V samostatnom Slovensku sa mesto postavilo na nohy vďaka strojárstvu a výrobe automobilových dielov — veľa z nej smeruje do veľkých závodov v Nitre pol hodiny odtiaľto; fabrika Jaguar Land Rover, ktorá tam vznikla v roku 2018, pritiahla dodávateľov do celého okresu. Druhá vec, z ktorej mesto žije, je poloha brány: chodníky do Tribeča, dve hradné zrúcaniny a predovšetkým Topoľčianky s kaštieľom, parkom, zubrou zvernicou a žrebčínom. V Migazziho kaštieli na hlavnej ulici sídli mestské múzeum. Je to pokojné mesto s veľmi dlhými písanými dejinami a jedným veľmi hlučným dvadsiatym storočím.
