VrábleVráble

From the thirteenth century Vráble belonged to the Archbishop of Esztergom, and it became something unusual: the seat of the archbishop's predial nobles. These were men who held their land from the church rather than from the king, owed the archbishop military service instead of tax, and had a court of their own — the Vráble seat — headed by an official called a palatine; one of them, Tomáš, is on record in 1337. In plain terms, Vráble was the little capital of a private country belonging to a bishop. It was already a market place by 1294 and had a toll station on the road by the 1480s.Od 13. storočia patrili Vráble ostrihomskému arcibiskupovi a stalo sa z nich čosi nezvyčajné: sídlo arcibiskupových predialistov.
